Maddi is a Darug woman and research fellow at the University of Melbourne. Her research explores ways in which to bring together Indigenous and western ecological knowledges to foster healthy Country outcomes in land management and research. Maddi uses storytelling as a mechanism for the weaving together of these knowledges, to create new ways of knowing grounded in Indigenous ontologies. Maddi has a strong background in archaeology and cultural heritage management, as well as embedding Indigenous knowledge in urban research through her position as co-chair of the Indigenous Advisory Group to the Clean Air and Urban Landscapes Hub.
